Good TikTok engagement rate: 2026 benchmarks
The average TikTok engagement rate, measured against views, was about 3.9% in Q3 2026 (3.85% in the first half of 2026), according to Socialinsider's analysis of millions of TikTok videos (Socialinsider). Whether yours is "good" depends on how you calculate it and how big your account is.
How to calculate it
The most common method divides all interactions (likes, comments, shares and saves) by views, then multiplies by 100. You can try it with our TikTok engagement rate calculator. Some tools divide by followers instead, which gives a different and usually lower number, so always compare like with like.
Benchmarks by account size
- 1,000 to 5,000 followers: 4.40%
- 5,000 to 10,000: 4.00%
- 10,000 to 50,000: 3.90%
- 50,000 to 100,000: 3.75%
- 100,000 to 1 million: 3.95%

Using the number
Use engagement rate to compare your own videos against each other and against your size bracket, not to compare across platforms. A rate above the benchmark for your size is a good sign for that format.
