How it is calculated
Engagement rate = (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ views × 100. The calculator also shows the rate by followers, which many tools use. The two are not comparable, so use the same one every time.

Socialinsider's data on TikTok videos puts the average at about 3.9% by views, from 4.40% for accounts with 1,000 to 5,000 followers down to 3.75% for 50,000 to 100,000 (Socialinsider). More in our benchmark guide.
